Unhappiness at WorkEven though the economy is no longer flat on its back, the real economy as experienced in the day-to-day lives of workers is crippled.
According to a leading business group, it is indicated that the job satisfaction has dropped to a record low, with a particularly sharp fall among young people due to the pressures of recession taking their toll.
The stagnant labor market means that people are not moving on and up as they would like. It leaves many young people stranded in entry-level jobs.
The employers need to continue to work hard to rebuild motivation and commitment among employees bruised by job insecurity, lack of consultation over change, pay freezes or cuts, and increases in stress and conflict.
