UBM Profits Grows as it Makes a Show in China

According to United Business Media, it is said that Burgeoning demand in China helped the British company to push up forward bookings for key trade shows next year. releasing half-year results in line with expectations, the exhibition and publishing group said that forward bookings for its top 20 events were up by 12%.
In the half year to June 30, UBM increased operating profit by 6.4% to GBP 83.2 million, though pre-tax profit fell by 3% to GBP 49.6 million. Revenue was flat at GBP 434.3 million, which was up by 0.2% and above expectations of GBP 424 million.
Now, nine of UBM’s top twenty shows are held in China, which accoutns for a sixth of profits and 10% of revenue. Shares in the group climbed 17% in the past month.
