UBM Profits Grows as it Makes a Show in China

UBM_logoAccording to United Business Media, it is said that Burgeoning demand in China helped the British company to push up forward bookings for key trade shows next year. releasing half-year results in line with expectations, the exhibition and publishing group said that forward bookings for its top 20 events were up by 12%.
In the half year to June 30, UBM increased operating profit by 6.4% to GBP 83.2 million, though pre-tax profit fell by 3% to GBP 49.6 million. Revenue was flat at GBP 434.3 million, which was up by 0.2% and above expectations of GBP 424 million.
Now, nine of UBM’s top twenty shows are held in China, which accoutns for a sixth of profits and 10% of revenue. Shares in the group climbed 17% in the past month.
