PartyGaming and Bwin Interactive Entertainment are two of the biggest European operators of Internet betting sites. Last Thursday, the two online gambling operators announced that they are planning to merge to form the largest publicly traded online gambling company in the world.
The news comes as a number of governments both in Europe and the US are now relaxing the rules on online gambling, hoping to tax the activity and use the revenue to reduce gaping budget shortfalls.
