Third of Vauxhall Workforce Facing Being Axed

Under plans, which are called by the unions as ‘a political stitch up’, nearly 31% of workers of Vauxhall, which is about 1375, are to be cut by the car-maker’s new owners.
According to the figures leaked yesterday, it is indiated that the job cuts at Vauxhall’s Ellesmere Port and Luton factories will be at nearly twice the rate of those at German company Opel, where the workforce will be cut by 4116 to 20584, which is just a 16.6% drop of staff.
