As well as being an opportunity for the employer to see if you are right for the role, it is also your chance to see if the company is right for you. So it is important that you ask the right questions. Only then will you know if the values of the organization match your own.
1. Leadership
★ Are there any opportunities for the leader and senior management to listen to staff?
★ How are the values of the organization reflected in the actions and style of the senior management?
★ How do the leaders communicate with the employees?
2. My Company
★ What makes you proud to work for this company?
★ What makes this company unique to work for?
★ How are employees encouraged to provide ideas for the wider development of the company?
3. Personal Growth
★ How could I expect to progress within the company in the next three years?
★ What learning opportunities are available for someone in this role?
★ How will my performance be reviewed and how frequently?
4. My Manager
★ Who is my line manager?
★ Can I meet them?
★ What management training do you have in place?
★ How do managers here support staff?
5. My Team
★ How does the company promote a team environment?
★ What opportunities exist for teams across the organization to interact together?
6. Giving Something Back
★ Are there any ways in which the organization works with the local community?
★ What, if any, policies do you have in place concerning environmental issues?
★ Are there any ways in which the company supports individuals in their own charitable work, and if so, what are they?
7. Fair Deal
★ How to pay and benefits compare to sector averages?
★ Is there a structured pay review system, if so can you talk me through it?
★ Are there any unique ways in which the organizations rewards commitment and effort?
8. Wellbeing
★ How does your staff turnover compare to others in this section?
★ What systems are in place for flexible working?
★ What do you do to encourage work and life balance and to ensure staff remain motivated?
