Iced cider may go down a treat during the balmy summer time, however, the recent snow left a bitter taste at the manufacturer of Magner cider. C&C Group announced that its turnaround stalled in the last month of 2010with shipments to pubs and bars in the UK down by 19%.
The decline, which is partly offset by strong sales in off-licences and supermarkets over Christmas, followed an increase of 4.8% in overall volumes in the previous quarter. In spite of the mixed end to the year, C&C said that it remained confident of meeting guidance for full-year operating profits of GBP 102 million to GBP 106 million.
