Rent Your House as a Film Location
Sunday, April 15, 2012 8:21Let’s face it, you are probably not going to be able to rent your home if you live in a bog standard semi in Shepherds Bush. However, similarly, you don’ have to live in a stately home to earn money from using your house as a film location.
Film and TV companies will consider all types of properties depending on the projects in hand. A small-budget documentary will pay in the region of 800 pounds per day, while a big-name TV commercial will go up to 2000 pounds.
You will need to register your property with a locations company and they will hold your details and photographs online in their database. It is up to you to take good digital photographs and to describe why your house is a good film location. Don’t forget to mention quirky focal moints and unusual features as it will make your house stand out from the crowd. Don’t forget to include pictures of your back garden, too.
