Red Tape Costs Rise by £11bn over the past year

Research shows that businesses faced another £11 billion in red tape and new regulation costs within only 12 months. Estimates the latest Burdens Barometer from the British Chambers of Commerce indicates that the financial impact of rules and laws has hit £88.3 billion since 1998.
According to the report, which was compled b experts from the London and Manchester Business Schools, there have been 40 new laws imposed on the sector ever since 2009. these include the new light vehicle emission standards, which have a recurring cost to business of £1.48 billion.
