Good talents are the true sources of strength for any organizations. People problems, which can be seen as organization blockages, can lead to damage to the organizations as a whole. In the modern society, the competition between various businesses is becoming the competition of managing the best talents.
In the process of Human Resource Management, recruitment and selection are two key parts. How different organizations attract the good employees is the very first step in their human resource management. The two terms always comes together, however, they are two distinctive concepts. And it is useful to make a distinction between them.
1) Recruitment is the first part of the process to fill a vacancy. It includes the examination of the vacancy, the consideration of sources of suitable candidates, making contact with those candidates and attracting applications from them.
2) Selection is the next stage. It includes the process of assessing the candidates via various means, and making an option followed by an offer of employment.
