During the time of economic recession, some video game businesses still managed to maintain their profits growth. The industry sector of manufacturing different video games, such as DS R4 and Wii, are doing much better on their general retail sales. There are a number of evidence indicating that the video games may be one of the very few economic segments that are, more or less, recession-proof.
However, the success of the game industry isn’t universal. There are a large number of layoffs at all kinds of video game companies, just as seen across the economy as a whole. According the industry survey, there are so many layoffs and studio closings occurring in the gaming industry during the record-breaking year.
