Users are attracted by competitions and other measures they find on company profiles within social networks like facebook, my space and Twitter. There, the curious users are taken good care of.
Next to the latest news of the industry, the users get the chance to talk about the product and to share their experiences with others. To be capable to achieve this, they have to become a member of a community. In such way, the company gathers their lambs, creates proximity and a name for themselves. Through this platform the users are then led to the actual company website, and business can start.
There are several advantages of this interactive way of advertising. First of all, the customers is not feeling left out. Secondly, the customer is reconfirmed of having bought the right product or service by the experiences of other customers in the field. The latter one is a key part of advertising politics, which is called as “Reinforcement”. However, one disadvantage of this interactive type of advertising is the risk of unsatisfied customers exerting negative influence. So, the company has to strive for a quality that prevents complaints, which is a good thing.
