Preparing Your CV
Thursday, March 10, 2011 13:03The majority of British employers ask to see your curriculum vitae. A CV is a two or three page summary of your own skills and experience.
Make sure that your CV reflects the kinds of words and phrases that the job advert uses. For example, if the ad talks about planning and dealing with customers, make sure that you sue those precise words if you possibly can.
The following details should be included in your CV:
1. Your contact details including your name, address, contact telephone numbers and email address.
2. A list of your experience in in reverse chronological order, starting at the top of the list with your most recent job and working backwards in time.
3. Your education, including any professional qualifications. But don’t list out the exams you took at school if you left school more than ten years ago.
4. Any relevant hobbies or interests but be sure to explain why they are relevant.
If you are not sure about how to set out your CV, check it out online for some great samples.
