Peppa Pig Gobbles up £100m in TV Spin-offs

It was announced that the pre-school cartoon—Peppa Pig, which is con-owned by E1 Entertainment and the character’s creators, spin-off sales exceeded £100 million in the UK in the last financial year.
The company has been in existence for only six years, but has become the most popular pre-school property for girls and the fourth most popular licence in the UK in 2009. Now, it is sold on licence to 55 manufacturers of toys, gams, books, clothes and mobile phone applications.
Toy’s sales of Peppa Pig rose by 30% in the last year and a Nintendo DS game sold nearly 250000 copies in 16 months. Books sales from its publishing partner—Ladybird Books have broken the 2 million barrier in the UK and the stage show.
