Wednesday, June 22, 2011 10:45In the past, drivers had to be caught driving an uninsured car to be prosecuted. Now, under new Continuous Insurance Enforcement law, drivers have to insure their vehicles even if they are not using them.
Registered car owners are found to flout the new rule will be sent a warning letter, which will be followed by a fine of £100 unless the vehicle is certified as being off the road.
