Rising Costs Force Small Business Owners Dig into Their Pockets
Tuesday, August 9, 2011 6:01Owners of small business are now forced to ‘raid the family silver’ to get money for their companies due to the rising costs in every aspects.
According to an online survey of 750 entrepreneurs, it is found that about 50% etrepreneurs surveyed had reach into their own pocket to get cash for their business. 27% of them had turned to friends and family for a loan to cover the costs. And according to Make it Cheaper’s business cost index, which was carried out with the Centre for Economics and Business Research, it is indicated that this situation seems unlikely to change.
Figures reveal that the big 5 High Street banks lent £37.4 billion to SMEs in the first half of 2011, which is only shy of their target of £38 billion.
