Posted in category Featured

Basic CMYKThe broadcasting regulator–Ofcom, signalled that ITV and other commercial TV companies should be freed of some most burdensome advertising restrictions. The regulator is considering changing the emphasis in regulation from a presumption that airtime should be regulated to a presumption that it should not.
It is suggested that the failing to relax advertising regulation will risk allowing video aggregators like Google to grab the major broadcasting market in the UK.
Ofcom said that it will look to see if there are justifiable reasons to maintain the advertising restrictions. If there is no public interest reason for keeping the restrictions, they might be got rid of.

emailmarketingn2If done correctly, the marketing approach of e-mail marketing allows a business to become visible to the target customers in the market. And the best thing about this marketing approach is that it can deliver customized messages at a minimal cost, which is like having an extra agent on your side, without having to split the commission fee.
There are several reasons that email marketing makes an outstanding marketing approach.
First of all, the E-mail marketing can reach a wide range of customers. These days, most people in cities have at least one email adress. Via e-mail marketing, a business can convey the tailored marketing information to hundreds of thousand people accross the entire world.
Secondly, E-mail marketing is proactive as the message goes directly to people’s e-mail in-box, and gives them the opportunity to contact a business directly to get a quote or more information.
Thirdly, E-mail marketing is targeted. It is based on the concept of sending the right message to the right audience. Business could build a master list, which is segmented by geographic location, marital status, gender, age, income, time of year, etc.
Fourthly, E-mail marketing provides data in return. When running an email marketing, a business can figure out which messages worked and which don’t via analyse the result. It help a business to gradually improve its marketing campaign.
Fifthly, E-mail marketing allows one to engage. It help build a relationship with a broader base of prospects. So the potential customers will think of your business whenever they want your service or product.
Sixthly, the entry cost for E-mail marketing is lower than most forms of advertising or marketing. E-mail marketing requires very little up-front cost.
Seventhly, nlike television, radio commercials, or telemarketing calls, E-mail marketing won’t interrupt a prior activity to deliver a message. It is less intrusive and respect the customers’ life more, offering the base to build better relationship.
Last but not least, according to the DMA’s research, in 2009, e-mail marketing can generate a return on investment of $43.62 for every dollar spent on it. This ROI is unlikely to be found on any other type of marketing or advertising.

Banks Line up for Pru Deal

Monday, March 8, 2010 17:34
Posted in category News

AIA150_logoThe banks supporting the Prudential’s $35.5bn bid for AIG’s Asian arm will announce that they have spread the risk of under-writing the UK company’s massive rights issue among 30 banks.
In order to fund its bid for the Asian business of the stricken US insurance group—AIA, the Pru must raise the equivalent of $20bn from equity investors. This issue had origianlly been underwritten by Credit Suisse, JPMorgan Chase and HSBC. Besides, at least one large Asian sovereign wealth fund has committed to subunderwrite several billion dollars of the issue.
But, it is said that though it seems to be very unlikely for a competing offer for AIA to emerge, the fact is that most leading global banks have been brought in on the deal doesn’t preclude them from acting for a petential counterbidder.
