A Quick Reminder About Getting Credit Card

Friday, March 5, 2010 20:26
Posted in category Banking and Finance

credit_card_pitfallIt is just a quick reminder about getting credit cards.
Most people might not be aware of the fact that some according obligations when applying for a new credit card. Informing the credit card provider when moving to a new address is very necessary. Most credit card companies will say it is for your own good to keep them informed as it help prevent identity theft or credit fraud. However, they are not telling you that once you forget to do that when you move away, they are going to wait for several months, and then send you a bill of “tracing fee” plus interest.
Most people will inform the banks the change in their address, but might forget the credit cards they’ve got from high street retailers, such as Debenhams.
And the worst thing is that most people think that as long as they don’t use their credit cards at all after moving to a new place, they will be fine. It is not the truth. Even if you are not using the card at all, and the balance in the credit card account is clear before you moved, arrears will be generated from the process of tracing you to your new billing address.
A late payment of several pound could mount to several hundreds after a while without your knowledge. The companies don’t need to offer you any service and could charge you a great amount for that. It is the trick how they grow into big profitable businesses from small companies.
You might think that it is not your obligation to inform the comanies any change of your address, but you see, it is never a fair game as you expected. Most companies are losing millions or even billions annually due to credit card fraud. However, as they are not capable of making any effective movement to stop that kind of crime, they are more than happy to transferring part of their loss to the regular careless credit card holders who are not cheating them via imposting tracing fees and according interest.
So, if you are going to move. Remember to provide all your credit card providers, not only the banks, with the change in address as soon as you get the new address details. And, more importantly, it is highly suggested for one to cancel all the credit cards they are not using on a regular base to save the trouble. The convenience or instore discount such credit card might bring forwards usually will never match the trouble and fees they are going to cause. It is just not worth it.

commitmentA key challenge in sustaining the economy will be keeping up employment. It is a priority to keep employees happy and loyal.
Sustainable business makes new demands on an employer and what comes with that is a much greater level of engagement with employees. It is especially important in the service industries, in which the attitude of employees is crucial to the reputation of the business. However, to operate a sustainable business, it requires a tricky balancing act of generating work for the populace without undermining core economics.
But it is becoming increasingly hard for people nowadays to find a real new job in increasingly automated eocnomies, as there is always a trade-off between employing people and capital expenditure on machines. The society will face the need to draw more people into paid employment, without undermining commercial competitiveness which is often enhanced by automation.
