Crashing dollarCar insurance penalises young drivers as statistically they are more likely to have an accident, especially between the hours of 11pm and 5am. In the past 6 months, young motorist have seen premiums soar by up to 50%.
However, some insurers are not targeting this lucrative market with pay-as-you-go technology. A box system using GPS-tracking similar to that used by satnavs to tell the insurers when you drive, how far and how well, via checking speed, cornering, braking and acceleration.
The insurethebox allows the drivers to buy 6000 miles cover but extra miles are awarded to good drivers who stick to the speed limit and drive safely while boy or girl racers are penalized. New drivers could also save cash via taking an extra driving test such as the Pass Plus.

Common Vocal Mistakes in Interview

Tuesday, March 1, 2011 10:16
Posted in category Featured

Vocal MistakesJob candidates tend to make one of three mistakes when it comes to their boice during an interview. They often:
Speak in a monotonous voice: The words seem to fall out of these candidates’ mouths without any energy or inflection behind them.
Mumble words: The lips of these candidates simply don’t move enough to let the interviewers understand what they are trying to say. Unfortunately, interviewers are usually too polite to say that they can’t understand you and simply let you mumble on. But you can be certian that they’ll give the job to someone that they can understand!
Speak too quickly or for too long: Nerves can get the better of some candidates and make them gibber almost uncontrollably or speak for too long. Speak for no more than one or two minutes at a time. If you want to continue a story, check with the interviewers by asking, Is this useful, shall I go on?

Concert and Events Staff

event staffWhen the rock bands travel around the country, they normally have a large entourage supporting them. From roadies to personal trainers to accountants, they are like an army on the move. However, when they roll into your town, they still create a huge demand for temporary labour. For example, when you go to a concert, think about all the casual staff around you, from the angry guy in the high visibility tabard barking into a walkie-talkie to the spotty youth who serves you one of those burgers made out of sawdust and bits of meat they are not allowed to give pets for which they charge you for GBP 8. By the nature of the work, it can be done in the evenings so fits in with many other work commitments.
You can get registered with the local offices recruiting temporary employees, and become a casual employee. The amount of work can vary according to the size and number of events taking place and the hours of work and how regular it is.
On the bad side, rates for these sorts of jobs are not brilliant and in most instances, you will be looking at pay rates around the minimum wage. On the positive side, it can be very sociable with lots of other staff in a similar boat and if you like live music or big sporting events then you get to watch them for free.

Domestic Pet Breeding

Sunday, February 27, 2011 8:11
Posted in category Money

Pet breeding seems to be pretty easy. It seems like if you buy a female pedigree dog for GBP600, then do a stud deal with an owner of male dog and a few months later you have eight puppies, that could be sold for GBP 600 each. Wong! In the real world, earn via pet breeding is much more complicated.
Your dog need to get proper exercise, a good diet and will need vet treatment through its pregnancy. Then you have to think of what happens if things go wrong, such as the dog needs a c-section, which is extremely expensive, or rejects the pups or the new owners return the pubs as they have decided that they are not dog people. Go into this with immense caution. A profitable breeding program can take 15 to 20 years to develop.

How to Make Staff do Extra Hours

Friday, February 25, 2011 10:22
Posted in category Jobs

Extra Hours

Whether you can make your staff work extra hours or over weekends will depend on yoru contracts of employment. Employee contracts will also determine your obligations on paying for these extra hours.
The employees are required to work only their normal hours. You can request that they do additional hours and work at times outside their normal days but you may not be able to force them. Check the terms and conditions and job descriptions. Do you have a clause that allows you to vary their hours or ask for extra hours when necessary?
Talk to your employees and see if they could come up with ways to complete the work before deadlines. Consider whether it would be worth hiring extra staff temporarily if this increase in workload is not likely to be sustained. If you are looking at a permanent change, you need to consult with employees about changing their pattern of work and contractual terms. If this is likely to be a long-term increase in workload, you should reconsider your staffing levels. When you are looking at temporarily increase in hours, you can approach your employees about being more flexible for short-term demand. You could offer time off when the busy period is over if you don’t want to pay overtimer.
