Online Businesses Frozen as Cold Spell Hits Postal Service

The severe weather has left many small online buisnesses battling to meet the pre-Christmas demand. Several website owners have refused to take new orders as the main postal and courier services have been unable to get items out of depots in the worst hit parts of the country.
In spite of these difficulties, a lot of spare-room entrepreneurs have continued trading. The UK operations of online marketplace Ebay recorded its busiest week of trading ever, with about 1.4 million items bought in one day.
