Microsoft Responds to Threat from Apple

The launch of Windows 8 operating system today marked a belated response of Microsoft to the threat from the Apple’s touchscreen device–iPad as well as the tablet revolution Apple has instigated.
Microsoft’s new touchscreen device are meant to combine the best of personal computers and tablets. According to Microsoft’s chief executive officer–Steve Ballmer, it is said that the new gadget would “shatter perceptions of what a PC is”.
