The UK division of McDonald’s reported its 18th consecutive quarter of like-for-like sales growth after attracting an extra 18 million customer in the quarter to the end of September.
The burger behemoth does not provide a breakdown of the performance of its 1200-outlet UKbusiness, though it is understood to have outperformed both the 4.1% growth recorded in Europe and the 5.3% increase achieved in the US.
The figures of the third-quarter came as McDonald’s announced the signing of a 20-year franchise deal with Roadchef in which the motoway services operator will convert its ten Wimpy outlets to McDonald’s after a successful trial on the M5.
