First of all, your boss hire you to solve actual problems, not for simply pointing the problem out for others to solve;
Secondly, do not ever believe the ones that fail to manage themselves can ever be succeed in managing a team;
Thirdly, a boss that are not willing to give you a pay raise, will never take you as important as money seems to be at least more important than you to him;
