It is revealed that the IT giant–Google is expected to introduce a wireless payment system that will allow the shoppers to wave their phones to pay instead of pulling out their credit cards. It is said that Google will offer mobile payments with MasterCard and Citibank, as well as with cellphone carriers, hardware manufacturers and retailers.
The mobile wallets will be initially available only on the Nexus S phone. It will use a Citibank-issued MasterCard credit card number and a virtual Google MasterCard prepaid card. Users will be able to make payments at any of the 124,000 merchants that have MasterCard’s PayPass terminals that accept contactless payments.
