Facebook has just released 60 new lifestyle apps which allow the users to track the recipes they cooked, the dresses they bought, as well as the trip to Paris they want to take. The apps, along with Facebook’s opening of its platform to any developer that wants to build on it, are clearly aimed at diversifying the experiences people can have on the site and to keep them participating. It is said that these are actually turning the social network into a personal online scrapbook.
This is said to be evidence indicating a sensible business to move ahead of the company’s IPO, as it keeps engagement rates up in order to keeps marketers optimistic and spending money.
