Del Boy is Going to Help M&S Boost Food Sales

The much-parodied sentenced of “this is not just food” used to be the unique advertisement of Marks & Spencer. For the past 3 years, this advertisement about food has featured close-ups of products like melt-in-the-middle chocolate puddings and it has a universal appeal with the British public.
However, recent industry market figures indicated that while supermarkets and discount chains, like Aldi, are boosting sales by an average of around 7% annually, food sales of M&S were lower than the situation of the previous year. Now this high street retailer is all but consigning this campaign to history and turning to Del Boy to boost sales of its ready-to-go food. The company is going to begin a new chapter this Sunday by using the actor—David Jason, to promote its Italian food. This movement represents a marked shift of M&S.
