It is equally necessary to build search engine-friendly sites and avoid things that search engines hate. Frames are among the major mistakes to avoid when setting up a web site. Frames used to be very popular, but much less so these days.
From the perspective of a search engine, frames create the following problems.
First of all, framed site is a collection of URLs by definition. Search engines index individual pages, not framesets, as they don’t know how to properly index framed pages. Secondly, you can’t point to a particular page in the site. The problem may occur in the situations of linking campaigns, PPC campaigns as well as indexing products by shopping directories.
