Confidential Tax Files Could Be Sent to India

The Government is considering sending the confidential tax records of Britons to India. It is revealed by the staff at HM Revenue & Customs that the proposals to contract out sensitive tax processing work to the country are on the table as part of a project to cut costs by £205m a year.
HMRC’s record of protecting personal data has already caused a lot of controversy. This piece of news has raised fears that personal data could fall into the hands of the fraudsters.
