Google set up that rarest of spectacles, which is a public flight between Beijing and a foreign company, when the internet company dropped the bombshell in January that it would no longer self-censor web searches in China.
In most business circles in China as well as among China watchers in the west, the public option is that the only winner in such a situation would be the Chinese government.
