Peter Marks, boss of Co-op is looking to rely on a tailwind from the wave of public anger towards the big High Street banks to achieve a success of his purchase of 632 Lloyds branches.
According to Mr Marks, was said that Co-op has enjoyed an increase of 61% in requests from customers of other banks to switch to the group in the past 3 weeks. And he also brushed off suggestions that the unusual structure of the group reflected a lack of transparency around strategic decision-making.
