Cheapest Option for Holidaymakers
Friday, April 10, 2009 18:37Cash is essential in some quantity when travelling abroad. For those people who want to spend their holidaying abroad this Easter, cash may prove the most cost effective option as people can obviously avoid currency and till charges.
As travellers struggle to cut down on the cost of their holiday, cash could make a comeback from increasing plastic use, preferred over relatively expensive credit and debit cards. The only exceptions are the Nationwide’s credit and debit cards, which are free for foreign currency transactions until 1 June.
However, cash also has its own disadvantage at the same time, as it cannot be replaced once lost or stolen. And compared to plastic use, using cash involves more inconvenience of shopping around for the best exchange rate on the High Street before departure.
