<p>According to the third-biggest supermarket in the UK&#8211;<strong>J Sainsbury</strong>, it is unveiled that the retailing chain had obtained robust Christmas trading figures which indicated an acceleration in its sales growth towards the end of 2011.<br />
Sainsbury said that after stripping out petrol sales but not sales tax, the like-for-like sales in the 14 weeks to January 7th of the company were up by 2.1%, compared to the figure in 2010.<br />
Sainsbury&#8217;s performance during the third quarter of last financial year was an improvement on the 1.9% the company had posted over the preceding 6 months. According to a poll of market expectations carried out by Bloomberg, it was shown that this figure was also better than the 1.8% growth which was expected by the analysts.</p>

<p>Revisit the customers are quite important as it helps one to achieve sales goals more effectively and efficiently. Here are a few excuses one could use for creating an opportunity to pay a visit to their clients again.</p>
<p><strong>1. Pay another visit to the client on the ground of sending business cards.</strong><br />
Traditionally, sending business cards should be done at the very first time you meet your clients. However, if you try to avoid giving business cards at the very first time and make it the excuse for a second visit to your clients, you might have some unexpected gains.</p>
<p><strong>2. Deliberately leave little information at your very first visit. </strong><br />
When people are looking to reject the sales and ask them to leave in a polite way, they tend to ask them for documents or introduction material for later study. In such case, it would be a waste to do as they ask. Instead, you sould indicate that you are running out of promotional materials and make it a good excuse for a second visit.</p>

<p>Though <strong>sales</strong> and <strong>marketing</strong> both serve the same goals of increasing the revenue and generating profits, they are two different terms that focus on different aspects. So what is the actual difference between these two closely interlinked concepts?<br />
Generally speaking, marketing refers to everything you do to get the customers make initial contact, while sales is everything you do to close the deal.<br />
Based on this, marketing approaches differ from sales practice in several different way. First of all, sales person try to sell the products/service to the customer as soon as possible while marketers will ask about the actual needs of the customers first. Secondly, sales focus on the products/service and the revenue; while marketers are more concerned with the customers&#8217; feeling. Thirdly, sales will target customers any time anywhere without specific selection criteria; while marketers prefer to make up specific marketing campaign in advance to target customers in particular niche or segment. Last but not least, sales hunt customer around; while marketers attract cutomers to come around with integrated marketing campaign.</p>

The news come as the latest chapter in the unfolding tale of the book evolution from ink to digital.<br />
Amazons has sold 105 books for its Kindle e-reader for every 100 hardcover and paperback books ever since April 1st. These include books without Kindle versions and excluding free e-books.<br />
However, a lot of analysts warn that people shouldn&#8217;t exile their bookshelves to storage quite yet. After all, according to figures from Forrester Research, e-books only  account for about 14% of all general consumer fiction and nonfiction books sold.</p>

<p>The Heavy snow last weekend gave traders in Bicester an unexpected boost as shoppers were forced to stay in town. The town was hit by around 12cm of snow over seven hours on Saturday and there have been flurries ever since.<br />
According to the retailers in the town, the best thing that the heavy snow brought forward is to keep people in Bicester and keep trade local. Marks &amp; Spencer, for example, smashed its sales target by almost 30% on Monday as people started to panic-buy when more snow was predicted.</p>

The IMRG Campgemini e-Retail Sales Index, it is claimed that an estimated £4.1bn was spent online in a month compared with the 2009&#8217;s figure of £3.6bn.<br />
But online sales for Feburary were 4% down on the January figures as New Year promotions ended. Sales of health and beauty products were nearly a third higher than the same time last year. Beer, wine and spirits sales were up by 20%, followed by the increase of 17% in clothing, footwear and accessories.<br />
High street stores with online shopping channel were up by 24% year-on-year, whereas online-only sales increased by 4%.<br />
Valentine&#8217;s Day boosted the online sector, with online shoppers turning away from flowers and hampers in favour of underwear and perfume.</p>
