Backlinks are one of the important factor leading to SEO success. These days, in order to get better control of the backlinks building, many webmasters are using one or even more tools for traffic analysis.
However, when looking at the logs, some of them often find a referring websites that made no sense. Such referrer links always lead back to a page full of ads with no link pointing to the webmaster’s site at all. Then, whenever people click on a link, the site they visit will be able to see the name of the site that they just came from—the referer. In this case, the websites have been spoofed. It is one of the most popular black hat marketing approaches, which could help get the sites higher search rankings until they get banned due to using unethical practices.
Though it won’t cause any kinds of harm to a website, referrer links are very annoying and will cause false records in the traffic monitoring tools.
