BA’s Recruitment Plan in Gap Year
Sunday, July 19, 2009 10:16
The largest union BA workers—Unite, have accused British Airways of a ‘gap year recruitment plan’ after the airline told them the perk of travelling around the world would help to make up for cabin crew starting salaries being slashed from £18000 to £11000.
Unions says that the airline wants to introduce a temporary job mentality. The union said the plans show that BA boss Willie Walsh is intent ramming masses through permanent changes in the way of working.
Industry analysts believe that the recession-led financial crisis in which BA loses more than £ 1 minute per day, is the ideal time for Walsh costs permanently reduced. If he does not believe that his position would be called into question.
