Stocking best selling product ranges and ensuring they are consistently replenished will mean more chances to get cash in the till. Listening to your customers’ advice and stocking the lines they want to buy will also give them the confidence to continue shopping you.
However, neglecting availability can lead to missed sales opportunity and even a loss of customers. Research from Imperial Tobacco found that 58 per cent of adult smokerswould leave a store without buying a tobacco if their brands are out of stock.
Top tips about availability:
1. Stock the most popular brands for the customers, basing range on sales records and speaking to suppliers. Dedicate more space to the best selling products and stock new things to keep customers interested.
2. Listen to the opinion of your stuff and customers to help you make good decisions on what to stock and what not to. A tailored range willhelp distinguish you from the competition.
3. Avoid out of stocks at all costs, if shoppers can’t find their favourite brand, they are likely to go elsewhere.
4. Search for promotions and deals on various products with suppliers and wholesalers and pass these savings on to the customers. It will not only cut down on product spend, but also provide better value for money for shoppers.
