ASDA chief—Andy Bond admitted that the standards had fallen. According to Mr. Bond, it is said that the UK’s second largest supermarket chain had recently been performing below the high standards with more work to do to sharpen up in store.
It is said that the store’s year-on-year sales growth of 2.7% in March was ahead of the market but behind that of rivals Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons. Easing food inflation had depressed sales growth, thile consumer confidence was fragile and the cost of living the primary concern.
