Although the economic forecasts for the year ahead remains gloomy, a growing number of small businesses are taking advantages of the opportunities created by the economic crisis to boost their business.
According to the research by insurer Direct Line for Business, a lot of small business owners hold a ‘determined’ attitude to the market downturn, with over a quarter confident that their business will grow within the year. More than half of the business owners did not expect their turnover to fall. Their business strategies vary, with nearly 1/10 firms aiming to pick up business from rivals who have failed in the crisis time, while 1/5 firms plan to diversify via offering new products and services as a safeguard against a drop in sales.
